I'm looking to purchase a solid freshwater test kit. I really only need to check ammonia levels, nitrates and PH. I don't need a high-end $100 dollar kit - just something reliable, accurate and easy to use.

Any recommendations?

P.S. - I use Amquel, so any ammonia test would need to be compatible with the Amquel.

Thanks,

Mike

i use aquarium pharmacuticals (sp?) freshwater master test kit, i aloso use their saltwater test kit cince 1 was given to me by a friend (mainly for nitrates because the freshwater master doesnt have nitrates.) i am pleased with the results always accurate to what my LFS tests the water at. i have the LFS test water about once every few months just to be sure tho. it cost my like $16 from www.drsfostersmith.com

the reason i dont like it is because i have to take water samples and put drops in and that takes time, i would like to go to diping strips, but havent made the upgrade yet.

I use only and always will only use HAGEN test kits... Run around 7-8 bucks and they are top of the line in quality...
