I am setting up a 2.5 gallon tank with a betta in. After adding filter the current is way to strong it blows him from on side of the tank to the other.

There dosn't seem to be a way of turning it down.

Any ideas

try placing a sponge prefilter on the intake of the filter

you can cut a plastic bottle down the middle then cuthte ends off. Place it on the filter where the water comes out. so the water hits it and flows backwards. Ill try to find a diy on it.

What kind of filter is it? If it is a small HOB I find you can stuff it with floss and that will slow it down.
