Hi,

Right now I only have ten Cories and three species:sad: I plan on getting some more species this year.

Out of the three species I have (C. aeneus (Bronze), C. paleatus (Peppered), C. trilineatus (Three-Striped) I would have to say I like C. trilineatus (Three-Striped) the most. They are just so cute and pretty!

What kinds do you have PPOHolbrook?

I like albino cories (the C. aeneus variety) because they are very hardy and extremely gregarious and active........I also like sterbai because they are, IMO, the best looking cory.....

Get more than 3 or 4...they like groups...the more the better. In a 75g, you have room for 10-12 of these little guys.

Forgot to say why I like them....well because they are so darn cute. :)

Holy crap, you're hyper. Make sure your cories are captive-bred. Wild-caught cories often die suddenly for no readily apparent reason. You can usuallly count on bronze (green) cories and peppered cories to be captive-bred, and all albinos are. Sometimes julii (actually, they're usually trilineatus) and panda cories are captive-bred, but ask before you buy.

Hi,

Well, first off they are probably Three-Striped Cories (Corydoras trilineatus), because Juliis are rare. Most pet stores mislable them. If you post a pic, I could tell for sure.

They grow to about two to two and a half inches.

I have four of them. They are great little Cories!

I have a soft spot for arcuatus Cories. I just like the way they look. I have 6 pygmaeus cories in a planted 20gal. They are fun and small, they like to swim about 2-3 inches off the bottom when not feeding or resting.

The 6 rarely school together (only when I am cleaning) I don't know if it is because the tank is not that long or because there are not that many in the tank, as I understand they school in the thousands in the wild.

I am rather fond of C. robinae, C. loretoensis, C. haraldschultzi, C. aeneus 'lazer green', C. aeneus 'black'......and Brochis briyski and Scleromystax barbatus, which are strictly not corys, although they are arguably Corydoradine.

I really like all the corys because they are so active and kinda like little tanks! They don't seem to be intimidated by anything and just go about their business. I have a Schwart's and three pandas that love to pal around together.

corylover--what is the cory in your avatar. That guy is identical to mine which were sold as "julii cories".

Looking online the julii cories also look exactly like the one in your pic, while the trilineatus look somewhat different

Hi,

In my avatar that is one of my Three-Striped Cories (Corydoras trilineatus). Three-Striped Cories often get sold under Juliis. Trilineatus come in many different patterns, and the one in my avatar is different from most. Out of my four Three-Striped, only one is the 'common' pattern. Do you have a pic?

I can try but thy DO NOT stay still. They are very zoomy...and when they are not out and zooming they are hidden and resting.

Emerald Green & Peppered Corys. My Emerald Green's school together and hang out with guppies (pretty funny to watch) they sneak up on the guppies and nudge them in the tail. Harmless fun, no damaged fins and they've been doing this for almost a year. My Peppered corys do not school together. They are fun to watch race to the surface for the occasional gulp of air and trying to hide in the plants (vertically) when I clean their tank. They all have their own personality and I consider them the "clowns" of my tanks.

I've had peppered, bronze, and albinos... but I think my favs are pandas and sterbaii. I'm hoping to put a group of pandas in my 10g and a mix of sterbaii and albino in my 36gal-- but only after I've upgraded my bichir and my cichlids into a 125g+ tank!! :D

I have a dream...
