how do I find breeders close to home?

I am sick to death of the local pet store ! They have close to nothing there I want, and the prices are very high. beings its a small town we are locked into buying what he has. I am looking for local breeders, and can not find any. maybe I am not searching with the right words, but I really want to buy from people who have better fish, and fish that are local. Do you all but from breeders, or your local pet stores? the pet store here does not keep the tanks up in opinion, there tanks are filled with this blue green algea and 2 of the fish I bought from them croaked with in a few days. my other fish are very healthy but I do not trust the local fish store. Also sending away for fish is so expensive to ship here, and its cold! ( montana) any of you know any local breeders here?

I don't know how close any of these shops would be for you, but they might be able to hook you up with other hobbyists in your area who may be breeding fish you are interested in. Or possibly you can find other hobbyists to go in together with to order fish and share the shipping cost. Good luck!

thanks, most of those places are pretty far away, I can not believe I can not find breeders in Montana ! its like we are at the ends of the earth :mad2:
