Is there any difference between Lee's Ultimate Gravel Cleaner and the Python system (other than the "claw" on the Lee's)? From what I understand, all the parts are interchangeable. Obviously Lees is blue, Python is green...anything else?

The Lee tubing is not of as good a quality. It will turn milky white over time and become stiff.

The problem with Lees is that it might be too hard to find replacment parts..I do not know if Python will fit lees or not..

No experiance with Lee's, Love the python. After years of use, python has gotten a little "Cloudy" but is still as flexible as ever. Replaceced the valve once and the "Pump" once but other wise its awsome. I WOULDN'T OWN A 125 GALLON TANK IF I HAD NOT DISCOVERED THE PYTHON ON A TRIP TO DR.S FOSTER AND SMITH RETAIL STORE.

I have the Lee's. I had to replace the white plastic faucet adapter with a metal one from Home Depot. The white plastic one didn't fit properly. After doing that, it works great.

Shouldn't be a problem getting replacement parts. You can always order them from thatpetplace.com if your LFS doesn't have them.

I've always had Pythons (which I love). I was always just curious as it looked identical other than the color.

Thanks for the heads up!

The problem is that no one wants to wait weeks to get a part and not use the python..

The only real difference is the tubing that is used. The Lee one is not as flexible especially when it's cold and is also milky colored. I think it might be heavier too compared to the Phyton tubing. Everything else is the same though.
