My Guppies Had Fry Finally!

Hi, I'm new here but I have been on at Tetra Community Forum and have had my tank established and cycled for over a year.

My guppy has had 4 fry now. They are in a dual betta holder and I feed them a lot now. How often do I feed them? How long will it take them to mature?
 
How long it takes them to mature depends on how much you feed them. They empty their stomachs every 20 minutes, so feed them 4-5 times a day. What are you feeding them at the moment? Make sure food is TEENY TINY. They are not even as long as my your pinkie nail, so imagine how small their mouths are!

Hi I also have guppies and their belly is huge...when do I know they will give birth? are there suitable conditions that will help the female guppy along? A few weeks ago I had 3 fry...and I am feeding it crushed flakes and egg yolk...
 
i am feeding them finely crushed flakes now

Make sure it is egg yolk crushed up mixed with a teeny bit of water. Not crushed flakes, but flakes turned into POWDER. You know when they will give birth by how dark their gravid spot is. The gravid spot is a dark spot on the very back part of the guppy. It will get very dark and it is told that you can see the baby guppies developing -- but as I breed guppies, I have never seen that.

I also thought you might want to see one of my guppies giving birth..

if you don't have the patience to boil eggs and mash up the yolks, another good choice is Hikari First Bites food.. it's pretty much powdered protein, and it comes in little pouches for a couple bucks.. be careful not to overfeed though, a little of that stuff goes a LONG way.
