Oh wow, that's amazing. I'd never heard of it either. I love the optimistic line thrown in there, "Created a 100 foot waterfall, the largest ever in Louisiana." I didn't catch a date as to when it happened. The video makes it look old.

Ah yes, a classic. Texaco was drilling for oil/natural gas and miss calculated. Hit a salt mine and things got ugly.

Occured thursday November 21 of 1980. Lake Peigneur, Louisiana

No humans died, but 3 dogs did.

My hubby used to work for Windsor Salt in the mine. Just showed him the video and he was floored...The Windsor mine runs under the Detroit river. Scaaaary...
