I just picked up a new to me 75 gallon tank and inherited the few surviving members. Can you guys help me ID these two fish. I have mostly a live bearer community tank.

This looks like a common catfish: The guy warned me that he is aggressive so he is staying in his own container.

This guy I put in but he started chasing everyone, so I took him right out.

Here is a video of him 12meg file so high speed internet only.

The first one looks like the young channel cats we stocked our farm pond with! The second one, not sure. But the first one definitely looks like a standard catfish!

Edit: How big is the catfish?

The first 1 i'd say is a catfish but to me looks more like a flathead than a channel because of the color and the second looks like some sort of danio not sure tho.

Could the second one be a Flying Fox?

The first one (the catfish) will most likely get huge! I'd definitely find someone with a huge pond to give this guy to, or build him a pond yourself. It would take a really big tank for him, especially if he's a Channel Cat. And he'll most likely eat anything that can fit in his mouth.

Thanks guys. If anyone has any input on the second fish that would be great. The video is huge but shows him very clearly.

I'm taking the catfish to a LFS. I'm in the NW burbs of Chicago, land of fascist associations. If I even hinted at building a Koi pond or something similar in my backyard I would probably be expelled and not aloud to come back or talk to my family for a term of no less then 5 years.

My first thought was CAE, but it definitely doesn't have the right mouth. Looks like some sort of characin maybe? About how long is it?

About 2 inches. Narrow body, looks like he is built for speed. The guy had no problem chasing everyone. What I got with the tank are 3 Blackskirt Tetra's, this guy, and the catfish. I'm guessing he was too fast for the catfish to eat, and I did not think he would be aggressive because he did not eat the Tetra's. I did not see him actually attack anyone just chase everyone.
