hey, i have just put sand in my aquariam and it is very cloudy. after many water changes it seems to not get any less cloudyer. the fish are not yet in there becouse it is so cloudy. i was thinking of buying some of those anti cloudyness chemicals but wasnt sure.
can anyone help me?

Skip the chemicals and let the sand settle.

if your fish aren't in yet, try turning off your filter overnight. that will probably work wonders.

"oh, how you wish now, that you'd really rinsed that sand thoroughly first, eh"? ;)

chemicals used to 'clear up' cloudy water work by clumping smaller particles together into larger ones which then sink to the bottom. soooo, they don't remove anything from your tank ... it's sitting down there on gravel/sand. since you don't have fish in there yet, why not remove the sand and give it the thorough rinse you wish you had to begin with.
