I have a 55 gallon tank, i have heard about this bio spira and how it can help your tank. I have had my tank for 3 1/2 weeks with fish in it, its stil cycling so im constantly battling ammonia spikes and cloudy water and such, does this stuff help reduce that, cycle my tank faster ect. Any information on what it can do for me and if it can help me would be great.

It could help. I have had good success in a tank I set up with Biospira as an experiment. It is designed for a fish cycle. Are you doing a fishless cycle?Another, cheaper product that I have had good luck with is Seachem Stability, which also boosts beneficial bacteria.

Haha, well, If it is a nice batch of bio-spira, it should work perfectly. But I have already gone thru 2 dead packages of it and am very unhappy. As such, I am battling ammonia spikes. So, make sure you get the bio-spira from a reputable source and let them know beforehand that if it doesn't work, you ARE goingi to be back to get your money back.

i tested with api liquid test kit, both nitrates were reading 0 with the liquid, when i did the strip no 2 was 0, no 3 was at 20. ammonia was reading 1.0 this was after i put in ammo-lock. Right after my test i did another 25% water change, this is the second in two days.

Forget Ammolock, use prime. It will remove or neutralize Ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and chlorine. It also requires a much smaller dose, saving you money.

if you add bio spira you will still need to watch those readings(ammonai, nitrites and nitrates)
make sure you are reading the tests correctly and doing the test correctly.if you have an ammonia reading of 1 you are in desperate need of changing water. you did mention you have fish correct?

you will most likely need to do daily water changes . You need to get the ammonia down to <.25 adding ammo lock is not a sure fire method of knowing you are locking up the ammonia . api test for total ammonia(ammonia and ammonium) unless you have a test the only test ammonia and not ammonium you do not know how much ammonia is locked up. most of the time the chems used to make ammonia(NH3) safe turn it into ammonium(NH4) add the extra hydrogen,
