Hi,
Just wonderng if algae is a good sign or bad sign? my tanks glass is covered with brown algae, but i noticed that my fish seem to be more colorful?
will it be ok to leave the algae? or should i remove them?
for me its no problem if i can't se emy fish much, whats importante is that they are happy and healthy, is algae a sign of problem with water parameters?
thankls.

Brown algae:
Forms in soft brown clumpy patches. In the freshwater aquarium, these are usually diatoms. Usually indicates a lack of light or an excess of silicates. Increased light levels will usually make it disappear. Easily removed by wiping the glass or siphon vacuuming the affected area.

every aquarium will eventually get some form of algae, although the cause for each type will be different. some may too much or too little light, water with excess nutrients, ph levels, low dissolved oxygen, etc. algae is not harmful to fish (but it can block light to plants and kill them) and some even eat it for nutrients. keep doing weekly water changes to keep waste levels low and get timers for your lights so you don't leave them on too little or too much.
