30 gal stocking

I would say anything with the equal or stronger temperament of a cichlid...

Angel's are very aggressive so put something in that is equally aggressive or can handle aggressive tendancies of other fish.

Angels are often less agerssive than many ciclids, but they will eat whatever will fit i there mouth. That being said they would likly do well with some small bottum feeders. I keep corycats with my angels.

* Many fish (like cory cats) carry the diease that killed so may angels in the eighties. So, I got mine from an angel beeder to make sure they were diease free.

I think you could add a school of tetras (not neons) and a shoal of cories, plus something for algae, like 3-4 otocinclus. That would be a stocked tank. :)

And FYI most angels aren't that aggressive. Sometimes when breeding they can get aggressive while guarding eggs. And they can get aggressive if they are fighting, but towards other fish, they aren't aggressive at all. I keep my Angel with 3 types of tetras, cories, loaches, bolivian ram, pleco, otocinclus, and a blue gourami.

angels are not aggressive at all, and are considered one of the more peaceful cichlids (except during breeding, but all cichlid parents get aggressive when they are protecting their kids).

if you want to keep a pair of angels in a 30 gallon, you could also have a school of 6 tetras such as red eyes or diamonds, along with a small group of 4 corydoras. for algea control, go with a snail

angels aren't aggressive:laugh:

they are cichlids tho considered peaceful by some..I have seen them tear into other fish.
some alpha males are extremely hostile..

I do agree that they may not be as agressive as some cichlids..but be aware..there are scalare, altums and leopoldis

any of the wilds will be different in temperament.

but this is just something to be aware of..I also have many that are fine in community tanks..
just keep an eye on them..better to raise the angels with their tank mates.

single large angels may have been solitary so stick with younger angels..if you get a breeding pair..then keep a much closer look..
in general angels will get along with many other species..and they will try to eat anything that fits in their mouths..or attempt to eat anything that 'might' fit in their mouths. I no longer keep other fish in my tank with the wild scalare..those sneaky buggers hide amongst the plants and ambush other smaller fish.
