i have always used nothing but prepared foods for my fish and just lately started w/peas, cucumbers etc. I am curious as to wether it is ok to feed live worms from the garden or a bait shop. i read about severums liking earthworms and i'm sure my parrot would too. But is this safe? also any ideas on other live or non "prepared foods that work well. I'm trying to add a little more variety but do not want to end up causing problems w/ diseases or introduce something that can hurt them

yeah its fine i give them to my oscars once and awhile just go to your LFS and grab some those are safe and arent treated with anything or go to a bait shop and grab some i put mine in a bowl of water just to get the dirt off of them they do make some slime when the fish eat them but its easy to clean

Do you think angels/rams/bettas would be able to eat earthworms? Or would they be too big?

Normally too big for angels/rams and bettas,
and generally too fattening for often feedings.
Not bad if you feed them every now and again.

Thanks. They'll just have to settle for bloodworms then.

my 11" oscar LOVED to eat those big fatty nightcrawlers ripped in half. i fed him those once every couple weeks.
