Ok the lfs tells me not to change my water. nitrite 1.0 ammonia .00 nitrate .25 The last water change was two days ago. At .50 Nitrite and .0 ammonia. it is a fishey cycle going on week number 3 what do i do?:help::help:

You can change your water all you want. The bacteria you need is in the substrate. Also, if you are doing a fishy cycle it is a good idea to do water changes so your fish aren't as stressed.

Fishey cycle? Keep that ammonia and nitrite under .25

If you have a measureable amount of ammonia, do a water change.

So i should do a water change with my nitrite at 1. and my ammonia is at o. But dont use a gravel vac?

When I did my fishy cycle I did 50% WC three times a week. All of my fish survived the cycle.

A gravel vac is fine. You can't suck bacteria off rocks with that little water pressure. Besides, the more important buildup of beneficial bacteria is happening in your biofilter.
