hi thinking of getting dw book regarding low tech tanks.would need to order and so i cant look through it first or return it. if anybody has it can you tell me what its like?i know all the regular basics like good sustrate,co2 injection, dosing with ferts, regular water changes, watts per gallon etc etc.dont currently have a planted set up but its in the pipeline and ive been reading up for about six months.
question is will i learn anything important from the book and is it full of ott in depth technical mumbo jumbo? should i just spend the cash on my setup?

I just got a copy of Walstad's "Ecology of the Planted Aquarium" for Christmas! I haven't had a chance to delve into it much, but it was VERY well reviewed...it is considered the best book on low tech, non-CO2 planted tanks....suppose to be a relatively easy and enjoyable read.....check the reviews here....

I'll thumb through it a bit more this weekend and let you know what I think.
