Hello everybody at AC. I've decided to turn my 10 gallon tank, into a planted tank. I've got the substrate in now and I'm waiting for the beneficial bacteria to build up. Right now I've got 2 HOB's with cycled filters moving the water for me. I would like to get a small canister filter for it. Any suggestions?

Here's a couple of pictures of just the tank and substrate. I've already ordered a Current USA 2X40watt 20" lighting fixture with dual 6700k and 10,000K bulbs:eek: , a 5lb CO2 tank with a Milwaukee Co2 MA957 Regulator Set, CO2 tubing,a glass diffuser, Coralife digital timer/powerstrip, and substrate fertilizer tabs.

Eheim 2213.

2x40w is a lot of light. Run only one bulb when the tank is getting established.

I'm planning on running one bulb for 10 hrs, and having the second bulb kick on in the middle of the day and run for 3-4 hrs, shut off, then just have the first one running until night time. So it'll be 40 watts for 4hrs, then 80 watts for 4 hrs, then 2 hrs of 40 watts. This is of course after they get established (thanks for the tip epic). Also save me some cash on the electrical bill.

I've been looking at both the renas and eheims. They both seem to run about 50 to 60 bucks. Does anybody know if either of these have a way to mount them inside a stand, instead of just placing them on floor of the stand? If not, the smaller of two would be ideal.

I've got my plants and light now. Just waiting for the CO2 tank to show up.
