QT Tank

I'm a firm believer of quarantine tanks. From what I've read, it seems it is a lot more common with the saltwater hobby. Is it highly suggested for freshwater as well?

QT tanks allow aquarists of all water types to analyze their new fish and treat them for any diseases or conditions BEFORE exposing the disease to their established tank, and before exposing a weak and/or sick fish to a healthy group.
