Hi! I have six Pangasius (iridescent sharks) in a 4-foot diameter, 2-foot deep rubber pond (a modified old tractor tire) and I want to transfer them to a 6'X2'x2' glass tank so I can view them properly. The oldest cat is around 2 years old at 18" while the youngest is 8 mos. at 9". What material can I use to pad the tank ends so my skittish cats won't bust their noses raw? Thanks!:dance2:

The best way to prevent fish from banging into the sides of the tank is to house them in a tank that is large enough to fit them properly. IMO, a 6 X 2 X 2 tank would not even be large enough for 1 Pangasius, much less 6 of them. In the wild, they can grow to over 3 feet. I would suggest that, given your climate, you prepare a large pond for the fish.

Agreed...you need to be looking at something at least 8' x 5' x 2'...the rostral 'rubbing' comes from friction and collisions with tank ends and sides that are too close....remember that these are a large, open-water fish that needs a lot of room, and will grow to a potential 48" in length.
