I bought this 10 gallon at the GoodWill for $10. It came with the full hood with flourescent light, and, my fav, a SecondNature Whisper 10-20 Power Filter. Right now, it is full of snails and a live plant from the creek behind my house. i am making it a natural habitat tank. I plan to catch some bluntnose minnows to add. I will update pics when I add the minnows. Does anyone know what kind of snail that is?? What about the live plant?? I just set it up yesterday and added the snails yesterday. I added the rocks and the plants today. I built the rocks up to hide the SN and to make a waterfall effect :dive: from the filter. Other than the rocks, I am going barebottom. I hope you like!!:dive2: :D

Love it, Daniel! It does look very natural. Where did you get the snails? I am thinking they are malaysian trumpet snails. The plant looks like some kind of moss.

Maybe if you DID put some sand or substrate in there FROM THE CREAK your moss would be able to spread.

I like the Waterfall effect. It looks fantastic. Your Dad will love it! Lol. :joe:
 
All the substrate from the creek is pretty large rocks, about the size of golf balls. I may do that, though. I was told that the snails that I got out of the creek were called Perrywinkles. Hmmm. I don't know. I am glad you like. I plan to get more of the plants sometime. i had to get in the creek to get them, and that water is really cold this time of the year!!

Well, I can't see the snails very well. I can see the shape, though, and they look like Malaysian Trumpets. Oh, we'll see.:look:
 
My dad won't love it!! It doesn't matter about the look, he just hates me having pets. Trust me. He shot most of the dogs/cats that my sister and I had. If he didn't shoot them, he snuck and took them far, far away. It is sad that he has to be that way.:sad:
