Anyone ever have any sucess keeping Gouramis with and kinds of New World Cichlids ( not dwarfs)?? I doubt it because it seems like they'd pick on a Gourami, but I'm just curious. I've never heard one way or the other.

it depends on what type of gourami and what type of cichlid we are talking about here.

hello,
I have read that Gouramis and Dwarf Cichlids can live together. Here is the adress. But does not really go into details.

I'd have to agree on that. Have 2 snakeskin gouramies(@4-1/2") in with 1 green & 1 gold serverum of similar size & a @6" clown knife. (yes, I know he's moving to a new tank soon!) For now it seems to be working fine! the gouramies seem more interested in squabbling with each other a bit. Other than that they all just hang out and don't bother with each other.
But with all questions of compatibility the answer is a very definite "Maybe" it depends on a lot of different factors.
