I just did a 50% water change, and when I put my gravel vac in the water, y cory started to freak out. He was in the corner, zig zaging up and down, staying in the corner. He sometimes does this when he is fed? Why is this?

I have a couple of corys that seem to go crazy when I vac the gravel. They do that zig zag thing and actually bump into the syphon tube several times. I thought they were just being territorial since they only go crazy when I start to vac near the wendtii where they mostly hang out.

hmmm, if you have a few cories, might this mean spawning?

My corys hid in their cave a lot right before they spawned. They spawned 3 times in the last 8 months.

I have both peppered and albino cories. This winter for the first time, they have each spawned 2 days after a water change. The temp normally is about 74. When I add the new water, its at about 72. Thats about all it takes to induce them to spawn. On the day of the water change, they do that dance where the go side to side and up and down across the front glass. 2 days later, they have laid their eggs on the back glass. This has happened 3 weeks in a row. I am now raising 2 batches of babies. The third batch hasn't hatched yet.
