need advice with what to put into Eheim

Just got a ehaim 2250 canister filter.
what shoul;d i put into it?
panning to but spong on most buttom part, then ceramic rings on 2nd layer, and filter floss on top most? will thi sbe ok? any other media to use?

I would but substrate in there too. You can put that after the mechanical filtration. You will want some type of bio media.
 
get your hands on a liter or 2 of Ehfisubstrat Pro. it's kinda pricey, but VERY effective, and made by eheim so it will work wonderfully with your filter.

i have a 2026, so your setup will be a little different, but i use (from the bottom up) ehfimech as the first layer, then a coarse filter pad, then ehfisubstrat pro, then fine filter floss.

thanks! i'll try to get Ehfisubstrat Pro. btw is this media reusable? i mean just rinse after a while and then reuse?
 
Purgen.

People been telling me wonders...and it works wonders and lasts for ever. PLUS reuseable unlike other media.
 
ive had ehfisubstrat pro in my 2026 for well over a year and a half now and with an occasional rinse (i usually do it once every couple months) it still performs wonderfully!
