How do I cut the runners (or rizone) of my corkscrew vals.

In the wild, the runners never detach. They just continue to spread and grow. i suggest that you allow the val to reach a good size prior to separating. Do not separate a bunch at one time. Just clip the runners without damaging the roots on anything. It's ok to leavge a small amount of runner attached to the babies.
