I believe Jeff Rapps has them as Seratherodon mossambique, but are these the same as the fish which is oft-seen as Oreochromis mossambicus?
If not, where could I purchase an O. mossambicus in the somewhat-distant future? (If it were in the near future, I'd have this in Wanted Ads.)
Why dont you email Jeff Rapps with this question he should be able to answer it.

Good thought, GER, but I've already thought about it and I don't think that it's that good of an idea, because of this quote from his site: "Lastly, I need to make mention that this site is to provide prospective buyers a place to view my stock list as well as many photos of the fish offered. I regret that I cannot take the time to answer inquiries I receive which are not immediately pertaining to your order." If I'm not ordering from a while, my question isn't all-that-pertinent to him right now.
Oh well then I guess you should surf the net never thought Ide see the day Ide see you needing info on fish

Jeff does seem to take the time to answer questions if you send him an email even though it says that on his website. I think that its just to deter everyone in the world from asking him questions. If you want to respect his wishes then maybe he will answer you questions himself on Aquamojo's site. Just ideas

Thanks, and good points, dcouture20. Going over to aquamojo to sign up as I had been considering doing so for a while...and, with the access to Jeff, that would be great.

Actually the game and fish department stock them in the water reserviors and canals out here for weed control. Basically it's one of the five? species of "tilapia" out here. I can send you some but in the summer when they stock the water out her. Early to Mid May.

H8 Parrotfish, thank you much for that! I would have to start cycling a tank now, so I'll get back to you on it. :)

Listed Species of "Tilapia"
Oreochromis mossambicus
Oreochromis aureus
Tilapia Zilli
and a number of hybrids
Ones I've seen here at markets and water systems out here.
Sarotherodon aureus? same as Oreochromis?
Sarotherodon galilaeus?
They all could of been hybrids. Not sure?
