Hello, i have recently stocked my 120 with the following: a 5" red devil, 5" jack dempsy, 4" texas, and a 7" red terror. I also want something like a loach or small catfish that will clean up a little more than it makes a mess. Suggestions are greatly appreciated on the loach thing. So anyways do you all think that my tank is overstocked? Thank you all so very much.:help:

IMO you're at max stocking right now, in fact, i'd lose either the texas or the dempsey, and definety lose the red devil, or get rid of all the others except for the red devil.

The tank is definately overstocked now. The reason is territory, the Red Terror in particular can reach 20 inches if its a male A 120 gallon is too small. If Im correct the tank is 60x18x24 which would not allow the terror to turn around as an adult. You might be alright if you got rid of the red terror but then you may run into other problems. IMO red devils only get along with rocks I think your Jack dempsey may get the worst of it. As far as adding more fish I would not add anything else.

Yeah I would get rid of the Devil and the Terror. Maybe get a single fish to take their place. (GT maybe) and a bottom feeder.

NO the tank is not 60"x18"x24", it is the standard 48"x24"x24". Ok just wanted to let you knoe that a full grown festae can turn in my tank.

that acctually makes your OS problem worse. it means that there is less surface area for the fish to have territories, which will result in frequent aggression from the red devil and red terror.

What "surface area" are you talking about?

IMO your not overstocked with the fish at their current size, Keep an eye out for aggression though.

What filtration are you running?
What are your Ammonia,Nitrite and Nitrate levels?
