STILL on the first stage of cycling, but have a question about using Prime. Anybody out there use Prime in a small tank?
I have a 2.5 gallon minibow tank, and keep extra water for water changes in a 1 gallon plastic jug (largest jug I can find). I'd like to treat the water in the 1 gallon jug so it's all ready for when I do water changes, but I can't figure out the correct measurements for using Prime in such a small tank. The bottle says to use 5 ml per 50 gallons, and after much conversion, the best I can figure out is that I should use approximately 1/16 of a teaspoon per 2.5 gallons, and very roughly 1/32 of a teaspoon for the 1 gallon jug. Now, how in God's name does someone measure this small of a dose out?? Use 1-2 drops out of an eyedropper to the 1 gallon jug? I'd rather not add it right to the tank once a fish is in there.
