webcricket (So chill.) No wonder it's freezing Mar 22, 2006 1,481 0 0 Syracuse, NY Jan 31, 2007 #2 Answer: Balance the lighting, carbon, and nutrients. Now to help you understand how to do this, we need more information about your set-up. What type and wattage lights are over your tank? How many hours do you keep them on (assuming you are already using a timer)? Do you have a source of CO2? DIY soda bottle CO2? Injected CO2? Flourish Excel? Are you adding any fertilizer to the tank? What kind and how often? What kind of substrate do you use?
