Equipment opinions

Going to place an order with Dr's Fosters and Smith tonight *cheers*
Just wanted an opinion on the little filter that I'm going to get to supplement my under powered Stingray Filter (of which I have seen debris floating directly past the intake, even after I have rinsed the sponges.
I was thinking about using a Azoo Palm Filter. It's small and unobtrustive...
Anyone used these before? Good/bad results???

How big of a tank is this going on.

If it is a small tank maybe get and aquaclear 20 as the media for the filter is more readily available.

i have a stingray filter and i find it a good water circulator for my buckets and rubbermaid containers when they hold fish for more than a few minutes at a time. thats about all theyre good for.

I have one of those filters on my shrimp tank. Can't complain. It needs you to put water in it each time it's been off to "jumpstart" it, but other than that, no problems. You probably already know this, but don't change the whole cartridge, just rinse it!

i suggest an aquaclear or a penguin filter. ive never had an aquaclear but i hear they are the best h.o.b. around. i have 4 pengiun filters and i cant complain.

I'm using it in a 5 gallon tank that is about 85% full. I just ordered an Aquaclear from Big Al's...read some reviews online and decide to scrap the Azoo Palm....Going to us the Stingray on my very small Q tank instead.....

AquaClear and Whisper are pretty good. I like them both, but my favorite set up is an AC with sponge on bottom, potscrubbers in the middle, and BioMax on top. AquaClears are more versatile and quieter than Penguins. The AquaClears are quieter and las longer. Just swish your sponge weekly. They have more media volume than the Penguin series. An AquaClear 20 will do you well, I think.

Just got the Aquaclear set up in the tank. Gonna keep them both running for a couple of weeks til the Aquaclear has a chance to build up a bacterial colony, then I'll move the stingray to a Q-tank...
