an angels' gender is impossible to tell until they spawn.

female rams have a pink belly when they are ready to breed (unless that is only the german blues)

The firemouth looks like a gal. Males have long flowing extentions from the tip of their dorsal fin as well as from the edges of the tail fin. Males also tend to be a bit brighter and a wee bit larger.

Oh thank you, I do hope to get her a mate. I just was not sure what gender to get LOL! I know her/him is not brightly colored. do you need more pics to be sure if this truly is a female firemouth?
