Hi,

These are pictures of my first "serious" attempt at a tropical fishtank setup.
I started in mid October 2006 and I'm using a Jebo 818 external cannister filter (still going great) and added DIY Coke bottle CO2.

Picture 1 was taken 11th Nov, 2006.
Picture 2 was taken 9th Jan, 2007. I changed the background to plain black cardboard.

RIP List:
* 2 guppies mauled by a betta (which is now in a seperate 5 gallon tank)
* 2 Neon Tetras - one from swim bladder (I suspect the betta) and the other just went missing??
* 1 Bloodfin Tetra - jumped out of tank when automatic fish feeder ran out of food during holidays. Automatic fish feeder is now in retirement.

I'm not sure what to do with the riccia. It's attached to a square plate of glass via fishing wire. It doesn't seem to be spreading over the surrounding gravel.

I'm also thinking about changing the substrate to sand for easier vacuuming purposes.

looks good. for riccia i used netting to over rocks or the saucers of the terracotta pots. grew over the netting for a couple moths then became detached. i would have to replant it.

Nice tank!! It's amazing how much planted tanks can change in as little as a few months time.
