I went to Petcetera and got two Sagittaria subulata (I hope), they look a lot like the Vallisneria spiralis, which I already have and are producing runners. On the plant that I bought, there are bands parallel to the edges of the leaves. On the Vallisneria, I see the same thing, but not as distinct. Would someone be able to tell me the difference between sagittarias and vallisnerias?

Okay, I'll have a look and see if they are Sagittarias indeed. Here's a pic of them. I got them a few days ago. :S

Thank you, midiamin

oh :( I thought I have finally got a hold of it. Would you be able to identify it? I would need to give the correct lighting, since I currently have them in low-light conditions (thinking that they were sagittarias :S).

NOTE: The curling of the leaves is due to being kept in a container for a short period (a day or so).

Also, I checked it and it seems to have thicker leaves than the vals (these were labelled correctly as Vallisneria spiralis).

hmm... Oh well, I guess I'll have to make some place for it. I'll be researching for information on the Giant Val.

Thank you midiamin and ergo sum.
