Ive got a 10 gallon planted tank w/ DIY co2 (yeast in a 2 litre) Untill now I have been using a home made difuser. My brother got me a rio 180 powerhead for christmas. It has an attachment for an airhose and I was wondering if it would work to hook up the co2 to it. I have tried it for a few seconds, but it seems it comes out too fast. Any thoughts on this? Or should I try it and measure C02 on my own?

I use powerheads on my 55g and 29g planted tanks to diffuse DIY CO2. I have Maxijets which are extremely adjustable to where there is just a slight current and then the burst of CO2 bubbles every couple seconds. I haven't measured the amount of CO2 lately, but this method seems to work really well.

Are you talking about the air or water coming out too fast? I tried an Aquaclear PH before and it wouldn't adjust down enough, so it blew my plants all around. See if you can adjust it, so that it only has a slight current.

Cool, ill try it. The powerhead came with an attachment for adjustments. It works really well. It seems the C02 came out too fast but I guess I could turn it down. The current isnt too strong since I have it pointed to the front of the tank so it disperses quickly. Thanks :)

check to see how much co2 you have in the thank. i keep mine at 20ppm but others keep it up to 30-40 some times more.
