Hi. just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jeremy. I picked up a used 55G about a month ago for cheap. The original owner housed a snake in it, so I need to do a little cleaning and verify that it will definitely hold water. They weren't 100% sure if it was just a terrarium or an aquarium, but it was cheap, so I'll ebay it if it's a terrarium. I also still need to pickup a stand and all the other goodies, but I'm starting to slowly gather them. I'm not exactly sure what fish I want just yet, but I'm putting together a spreadsheet of possible fish.

Welcome to AC! How thick is the glass of the tank? That should be a good indicator as to weather it is an aquarium or terrerium. Could you post a pic? That would help to. There is pleanty of different fish that you could stock in that tank. Welcome to the hobby and good luck!

Welcome to AC! Also check the sealant in the corners for damage.

The front, side, and back glass is 3/16". I can't measure the bottom because there is a wood trim around the bottom. The wood trim is L shaped and the bottom glass sits inside the square the trim makes. Like a piece of glass in a picture frame laying face down. I don't own a camera, so I can't get pictures right now. I'll see if I can borrow a friends though to get some.
