Gosh, getting the intro over is probably the most daunting thing ever!

What do you need to know? I have been keeping tropical fish for 2 yrs, with a 30l tank (about 2'x1'x1') - currently it's a little low, with some silvertip tetra and a solitary ancient Cosby Gourami...

Just acquired a 4'x1'x15" tank with the light for nothing, so I am currently looking at my next tank project, a tropical community setup, or even an amazon-style biotope... not sure yet - I'll keep you posted and put pics up online. I'll try and take some of the tank as it is now, and go from there...

Out of fish choice, I really like the anabantoids - Gourami are great, characins (tetra) are fantastic, and also the angels look great.

Any tips/hints on cleaning a tank for new use after a break would be helpful.

Amazon bio type's look amazeing. Ive seen quite a few done very well. There was an article in this past months Aquarium Fish magazine about bio types and tank decoateing and they went all over an amazon set up.
