I've noticed that on my cabomba and hygro and a few other stem plants. They are shooting out adventitious roots at nodes all up and down the plant. Is there any way to keep these under control? I was thinking that they're trying to pull nutrients out of the water column, so I installed some substrate fertilizer tabs. Think this will help?

I kinda like that. Gives more vertical coverage to the plant. Like a mangrove. It's the plant adapting to conditions, and the way i see it, if the plant is growing and reaching out, that's a good thing.

Thanks. I've been dosing dry ferts in the water. My nitrates are around 10 ppm. I try to keep them between 10-20 ppm.

Your right. Take cuttings and plant those new roots down or give them away to someone like me who will cherish them and culture them further. What you ahe are very, very healthy and happy plants that are giving fruit and ready to muliply.
