cold temperatures is no excuse for missing an education! :thm:

Get a cup of really hot water. Go outside and throw the contents in the air. Comes down like snow... fun eh? I take it everyone in your area keeps some kind of back up heating system in case the power goes out?

It's gone up a few degrees here to 5*. This is pretty cold for Kentucky! This morning it was 1* w/ wind chill well into the negatives. We got a little snow so they cancelled school here, too.
Missing school doesn't mean missing an education - the schools get my kid five days a week, seven hours a day, plus the time she spends doing homework, a lot of which is a complete waste of time! She learns a lot of valuable things here at home, not just at school.
Plus, snow days are just fun. :p:

Oh it's brutally cold here as well. It ticks me off because I had 4 shipments of snails to go out, but, nope, even with a heat pack the poor things would freeze.
I can not wait until spring!!

guess what.
we had ANOTHER snow day today. thats the third this year. i havent had a snow day since the blizzard in 1999, much less three in one school year.
its for a stupid reason too. they closed school because of the snow we are "supposed" to get.
thats like going to Fiji for a year because you "might" win the lotterey

Back when I was in school (not recently, heh), we had an allotted amount of snow days per year. If we went over that amount, we had to make up the days at the end of the school year.
