an East African cichlid - Pseudotropheus demasoni. does best when kept in groups of 8 or more in a 55 gallon tank. needs hard, alkaline water. pH 7.7-8.6, GH 160-280 ppm, KH 180-240 ppm. eats primarily spirulina algae. tank should contain lots of rocks with caves and hidey holes. a very aggressive cichlid.
