well..i dont know where to find those...
but ill research it! thanks!they aren't hard to find. my LFS has a million of them for $7. infact, you could have 2-3 green tree frogs. keep in mind they need live bugs.

disagree. I kept a vivarium in a 55 gallon tank and was quite successful with a fire-bellied newt and the water full of endler's.
Have you ever thought about doing a seascape viv? With some small fish and a freshwater crab or two? You could do the land with some dried driftwood and sand, a seashell or two for looks, and have some sort of fast moving small fish...given enough places to hide, I think the fish would have a good chace of outrunning a crab... Those crabs tend to be pretty active. I'm not how old your bro is, but something that moves is much more fun to watch than a stationary frog or three :)

disagree. I kept a vivarium in a 55 gallon tank and was quite successful with a fire-bellied newt and the water full of endler's.well... it was a 55G tank, so there was probably enough water to dilute it effectively. I do know that FBNs do make poison, but it's probably not that strong and easily removed by frequent PWCs. I was just saying that to be better safe than sorry.
A 10 gal could do for 4 firebelly toads with nothing else. There are various newts you could keep (though none that get over 5"). In a tank this size, if you want fish it would be best to go for firebelly newts, as they require relatively little land.
The poison they secret is NOT going to pose a danger to any fish, unless you buy fish which are likely to try to eat them (same is true with the toads, although they may eat fish). I have one in an 8gal with 3 white clouds, 3 sterba cories and a floating frog. There have never been problems. Even when there were two. The poison will not be absorbed by fish scales. It is only a danger if ingested or if it comes into contact with the bloodstream.
A 10gal can also house most horned frogs (pacman frogs). Turn the tank on its end and it'll do for 4 green treefrogs or small geckos or a pair of anole lizards. This could look nice with about 4" of water on the bottom with a couple of floating frogs.
Also you will only need livefoods for frogs, toads and lizards, not aquatic newts or ADFs. Horned frogs will need large insects (maybe locusts) or even small mice.
