My dogtooth cichlids have had babies! This is the first time any of my cichlids have had babies and I have a few questions...
First of all, how many babies do mouthbrooders usually have and what is their average length/size when the mother releases them? I don't know exactly when mine were released - they're about 1 cm in length now. Will they survive on that powdery fry food or is it necessary to feed them live baby brine shrimp (mine have been eating the dry stuff for a few days now)? If I can get by using the powdery fry food, how old/big do they have to be before I can switch them to adult food?

The cruched flakes are fine. IF there are enough hiding places. some will survive. If you could deliver the crushed flakes into their door steps. That would increase the odds. :)

if you want to give them a "special delivery" you can put them into an airline tube so it can get right to them... and good luck...

The air tube is a great idea! :) Thanks.
