Most of the americans here have probably never heard of Australian Rules Football, but if you like running and team sports (and being a little bit rough ;)) then this is the sport for you!
We also have a woman's league and are starting an under 17's league as well. So come check us out! Go to:

Not anymore. Women can be in the men's league if they want, we have a few that do.

I remember some American's saying how brutal Aussie footy is because it's a like American football, only without the padding and helmets and with just as much tackling.

Because, how do I put this, many of the men have played for a lot longer and are a whole bunch bigger and stronger. Like Node said, it can be really rough sometimes. The women tend to be much less physical.

haha Gumby, these boys don't have near the skill that full blooded aussie lads do. My brothers play for the Prahran footy club in the city, get knocked about a bit I can tell ya that much!
