There are certain people on here who are WAY to quick to yell that someone is overstocked. It seems everytime someone asks a question, they are tortured for being overstocked before all of the info is known. There has been more than a few posts just like this, and attacking someone for being overstocked is a great way for them not to come back here for more info. Just a rant.... sorry but a lot of people get told they are overstocked when they probably are not, and get told certain things and combos that are not a sure thing, are impossible. Nothings impossible and you won't know if you don't try.

but you asked if your tank was OS

when you make a mistake like saying you have 2 fish that will get to 12", probably more, in a 55 gallon tank, then we think you acctually do. now that i have seen your post where you said that you made a mistake in your sig, thats all you had to say.

stocking has ALOT to do with alot of the problems. when you over stock a tank, aggression, stress, disease, death, and nitrates are all elevated, just to name a few.

putting a fish that grows to big for a tank is OS because the fish will simply get to big. its not because there are three fish in the tank, its because the fish will become stunted if it does not get a bigger tank.

Yeah, I agree there could be more posititveness in the way posters present info and advice. Having said this, I will add the most problems had in a tank are do to imcompatibility issues, overstocking, lack of research on person asking a questions part, inability of poster to take someones advice without arguing with it--even tho if they already new the answer to there question, they wouldnt be asking it in the first place.

PPL the majority of the time are giving advice from personal experience. And YES some combining, housing of fish are impossible, in the end you end up with dead fish. Why would you want to try it if you have several ppl telling you of which have the experience, as well as while doing your OWN research, through several different sources, you find it is not advisable to house certain fish together? (that was a rhetorical question) It would be like houseing a convict and a guppy together expecting to have a community enviroment.

I understand your frustation, as well as the other posters in several other threads over the past week or so. What I reccomend to us all is to try and turn a negative into a positive when you see it.

This is the internet..use smilies, and dont forget we are dealing with real live ppl. As far as noobs...remember that we were all noobs at one time. Advice for noobs, AC has some of the most valued experineced ppl on the web. If several ppl telling you one thing..then most likely it is so.

I was told recently that "Its not what you say, its how you say it". We all should remember this when typing to each other... And remember that opinions are just that..everyone has one. However facts are facts. You cant dispute either.

Maybe it's time to convert that saying into the 21st century.

"It's not what you type, It's how you type it" :joke:

The difference between saying

"Let's agree to disagree."

I agree. People told me I was 'Overstocked!', before they even knew what FISH I had in my tank. Stocking is such an interesting and debated topic anyway. Just ask five people how many Neons you can fit in a 10g. You'll get 5 different answers.
