Red Texas Cichlids

I found a site with red Texas Cichlids.Has anyone had any experience with these fish?They look coooool.

Someone Please correct me if I am wrong, but.

If I remember correctly they are a hybrid. I'm not too sure what the second species was.

They have only recently come into the aquarium trade.
They are still quite rare and hard to find.

Because of there "newness" Aggression, size, hardiness etc.. is still not 100%.

I believe there called a "Firetex"

It's a old hybrid from a Texas and a Firemouth Cichlid.

I wanted one before but I dont think its a hybrid its just a color variation that popped up like the red oscar.

I became curious about them because I was looking for a specific type of oscar color and ran into what said Red Texas. But yeah when I posted it before they said the picture looks like it was tooched up alot to make it look better.

They are a cross between a Texas and some type of a Flower horn. I use to have 4 they should very little aggression to the other Cichlids they were housed with but had a bitter disliking for each other.

Are you sure its a hybrid. Who know for sure a 100% sure this is a hybrid. Doesnt have and characteristics differant from a normal texas except of course the red.

I know a dude on aquabid has a sire to buy them but I dont remember his name. I could look but I might not be able to find it.

Yup thats the site. He has to sites now that I think of it though. He said that he doesnt get them very often last time I asked.

ger1023 your wrong once again. this fish is a cross breed. texas and a red devil. they are not as mean as a red devil. infact they are quite docile with other cichlids. they are very agressive towards each other on the other hand. they are new and very expensive.

Yeah Ill give you that there new but not to expensive they were going fo $45 on aquabid when I found out about them but decided not to get one. Thats why I said I didnt think they were Hybrids but if someone knew for sure to let us know or I wrote something along those lines unless I dremped it. Oh well hey its human to error

And you, too, would be wrong in calling it a cross-breed. If it is the cross of Cichlids which you allege, the fish would be a hybrid, not a cross-breed. Cross-breeds happen between animals of the same species.
