I am still in the process of cycling a 55 gallon tank with fish, my nitrates are 10, nitrites are .25, ph is 7.0, and ammonia i cant get an actual reading because i added ammo-lock which is giving me false readings but according to my ammonia tester in the tank it is showing safe. My water is still a bit hazy but i think that was due to my 50% water change when i tried to get the ammonia levels down. Otherwise are those parameters ok so far?

How far into the cycle are you? What kind of test kit are you using? Test strips are not very accurate. It is better to use a liquid test kit such as the one that is put out by Aquarium Pharmeceuticals. I believe it is called Aquarium Pharmeceuticals Freshwater Master Test Kit. Saying that the test results say it is safe does not give accurate enough information in order for us to help you. I am not keen on adding chemicals to the water other than a declorinator for freshwater set ups. The best way to keep the levels down to safe levels is through water changes. You can do as many as is necessary to keep your fish living in water that is safe for them. You want to keep your levels no higher then .25 during a cycle. If it gets higher then that it is time for a water change regardless of what the LFS tells you. Cloudy water is normal during a cycle. It will clear when the bacteria that is growing figures out what it is suppossed to do. Then you will have very clear water.

ditto...water change, water change, water change. No chemicals.

Addding chemicals only worsen your problem because they don't help you grow your beneficial bacteria.

Water changes are necessary. Back-to-back even... because you're doing a fish-in cycle.
