Is it normal for these fish to be a dull yellow color? mine are about 1.5" will they brighten up as they age?

well i have 2 electric yellows (pair) and my male is a beautiful darkish yellow and the female is like a real light (bright) colour so ypus will probaly will colour up with age

Don't have yellow labs but a quality cichlid diet will bring out the natural intense coloration of the species. My choice for my SA cichlids is a bit pricey but results are worth it.

I have two Cichlids that were sold to me as Electric yellows. But they are not. These are much more aggressive then Electrics, they also have faint stripe markings that come out sometimes on their bodies. I had the name once but as of now it eludes me.
