What are the peaceful cichlids that might do alright in a community tank?
Or, that might atleast do fine in my community tank of neons, cories, and a pleco?

A pair of Bolivian Rams would get my vote, or any of the Apistogramma species (although tend to prefer harem setups). I quite like Nannacara species too.
It would also keep to the South American theme you pretty much have going on in your tank.
You could easily get 2 species in that 70G tank.

the dwarf acaras like Laetacara curviceps aren't particularly aggressive either.

L. curviceps are beautiful little fish. I'd love to have a pair of them myself. :)

There are tons of Apistos to choose from. I'd go with either a pair or a trio (1m/2f).
You should be able to have a pair of each in the tank.

Blue rams. They are great fish. I have two and they don't mess with any fish.
The only problem is sometimes their over bred or injected with hormones so they show their color at a young age. But if you have a reputable dealer you should be fine and you will totally be happy with them.

I'd also suggest a pair of German Blue Rams. I just got a pair three days ago and they have already colored up beautiful and have begun courting. Hoping for some fry soon!

I'd say all the species listed above are good. Personally, I prefer bolivian rams and the Laetacaras (cruviceps and dorsigera) over blue rams since the other species are hardier.

keyholes?
I have Bolivian Rams,Kribs, and Curviceps. The Curviceps are shy, and most peaceful Dwarf Cichlid so far I have owned.A pair of Kribs will be territorial and aggressive if spawning. My Rams will go after each other, but not others. The is just my experience so far.Hope it helps.:hi:

keyholes?
I was going to suggest them as well. Star_rider has said they pack hunt neons. :o I have them w/ neons, though, and they've never bothered them. I'm not terribly attached to my neons, so imo it's worth the risk. *ducking*
They are great looking fish; not as colorful but pics on the web, or the drab colors they show in the pet store really don't do them justice. They have great personality and are a lot of fun to watch. Also hardier than rams.

what are the names of those fish.......and if i removed my neons into a new tank, would they be fine with my cories and pleco?

they will probably harass your corydoras, but if your pleco is tough enough he should be fine.
it looks like youve got some labs and a frontosa in there, not sure about the blue ones though

If you're looking for cichlids to go in a 25" high tank - angels are ideal.

i have 6 angels in my 90 gal and i think out of all of fish (expect my sevy) have the most personality. they always come right up to the glass to say when ever i walk by. i would say go with angles

Rainbow Cichlids (central american) aka:Herotilapia multispinosa
Here's some pics and a good article - I have a MATING pair in a 55g with mollies, platies, a couple of small botias, some ghost shrimp, and they've not hurt or attacked anyone! Beautiful orange and dark blue on mine (but then they are F1's).

Happy fish hunting! I researched for about 2 solid months before making my decisions (the rainbows and some other cichlids for other tanks), and so far (knock on wood), they've been good choices with no problems. You can't go wrong by doing too much research and forum inquiries!
