This question is actually from my girlfriend...

Anyway, we have been trying to give our Zebra danios in our 10g tank better lights, meaning florescent and brighter. The ones we currently have are clear which give out sort of yellowish color. Yesterday we went to a LFS where we picked a couple of Aqua Glo light bulbs but they turned out to have a dark red color which was wierd and obviously not what we wanted. We have returned the light bulbs but now don't know what to get. Not only the LFS owner did not seem to know much but also most products they carry have insufficient labelling. Could anybody here please tell us what brand to get?? I believe it's 25W light bulbs, florescent, natural lights that we want. Thanks in advance.

What kind of bulbs does the hood take? Tubes (size?), screw-in, other?

The lid requires two 25W screw-in bulbs

I currently have two Philips 15W CF bulbs (6500K) for both of my 10G tanks. It seems like they enhance the colour of the fishes, makes everything look clear. From what I see, it either looks clear or with a bit of blue. Also, I bought them from Home Depot...

Before, I used 2 of them Sylvania 13W CF bulbs (I think 3100K) and produced that yellow colour.

Just my opinion, I don't know if you would like them like I do.
