Some of them may work, But the price of the bulb is kind of expensive if it didn't. They also look like they would be a spot light, so you would need maybe 1 per foot for the tank. For a 4' tank that would be a $200 investment. If they did work though that would be a huge savings on bulb replacement.

the initial investment is high, but hopefully it'd save $ ovr the long term.

How many watt flourescent bulbs would one 10 watt LED replace?

im fairly aware of using red and blue leds in plant-growing. I have a hydroponics system going on in my basement which uses something very similar.

I'd rather not use it over a tank as fish get fairly angry when they see red, and it makes the water red.

I'd be interested to see if this works. That site lists a couple of bulbs that are 60 and 100 watt equivalents, both in the 7000K range.

Looks like they've done extensive testing on this LED fixture. Seems really expensive but in the long run you save on bulbs and not having to worry about a chiller.

I'm hoping the price will drop at some in the near future. I'd love to test one on my planted tank as well as on a reef set up.
