I personally prefer to not bag up fish every time with oxygen. I beleive in using it with stergeon or catfish, long journeys or on warm or hot days. But I feel using it without a good reason, lets the fish 'rely' on the oxygen in the bag and then have to convert back to the lower levels of oxygen in the aquarium / pond.
Please give me your views or advice on this topic.
Thankyou

I hope most "online" stores, and those having to drive a long distance, have extra oxygen injected into the fish bags. My opinion is that it can only help..

I'm on the fence. I think there are times and fish that benefit from the higher O2 levels. The fish aren't in the bag long enough to get used to a higher level of oxygen, but they will benefit from it. To me, it's kind of a safety blanket. You know the fish is going to be stressed, and that means it's going to be burning through O2 more quickly than it usually would. Of course, there are many fish that can be quickly killed this way--the surface gulpers such as cories, bettas, gouramies etc can be burned out from pure O2 in their shipping bags.
If fish are being shipped for a long period of time, obviously additional care needs to be taken, but that can include using the breathable bags, or other supplementation.
I guess I would say that adding pure O2 has it's use, but shouldn't be used for every fish that's bagged up.
