I am considering purchasing some electronic monitors for my tank. I currently have a Pinpoint temperature meter and would like to add a Calcium, PH, Nitrate, and SG meter to cut down on the time and money I spend on test kits. Any thoughts? Do they require recal often?

i think it woudl be a good idea. not sure how often the probes need to be replaced or how often they need to be calibrated though. And i usualy only see things like Ca and pH on people with a Ca reactor, but it wont hurt none the less if you dont have the time to do the tests but you do have the money for the monitors.

i am slowly doing the same thing with my tank i have gotten the pH monitor from pinpoint and the temp is in the mail on its way here. the probes need to be replaced about every 6 months to a year depending on the unit. i found them to be more accurately and the fact that they show a constant reading really helps a lot. they end up costing about the same and even more than the tests though because the probes are very expensive but i find it better to be more accurate.
