I grew out this Blue Diamond from 2 1/2 " fry. He's about 5" head to tail now. Tell me what you think.

Does he look stunted?

Thanks, but he doesn't look stunted? What about the pidgeon blood poking out into the pic?

judging from the size of the eye, he's not stunted

VERY nice fish. I am so jealous. I wish I had the room for a Discus tank in my house.

Looks good! Do you have plans for something bigger...you have 5 in a 30 gal...?

For sure your discus should be in a larger home. A 75 gal for them would be about right.

That is a really beautful fish. Maybe I should be trying to breed those instead of EBJDs. They have a real nice look to them.
Just wondering what do fish like that go for.

nice looking ..not stunted but I would recommend a larger tank for those discus..maybe a 55..or a 75-80 and add a couple more fish.
just think how big the discus can get..6" is not an uncommon size ..I have seen 9"+

Yikes, that's a bummer. Yeah I have 5 discus in a 30 gallon. 50% WCs every other day. Diet of blackworms and frozen blood worms. I need to get rid of 2 or 3, but I like them so much. They're getting territorial now, too. I think at the next Silicon Valley Aquarium Society meet (every 1st sat. of the month @ Round Table Pizza on Moorpark, in San Jose - shameless plug), I'll donate my 2 pidgeon bloods for the auction.
As for price, I have no idea. $20.00? Probably 40 in an LFS.
A 55 gal. is pushing it size wise in my little condo. Maybe later this year, I'll sneak one in. I might have to up the water changes to like 70%+ every other day.
Thanks for the replies

just a FYI..discus are schooling fish..they are actually more comfortable in a shoal/group.

That's why I'm reluctant to remove my 2 pidgeon bloods. . .
Another option is to convert the 30 gal. and get rid of my discus . . . like that's an option.
